Rich in culture and heritage, Hue served as Vietnam's capital under the Nguyen Emperors from 1802 to 1945 and as the center for both religion and education. In 1993 UNESCO designated the complex of monuments in Hue as a World heritage site and it is one of Vietnam's must-see destinations.

A boat trip along the romantic Perfume River is a timeless way to visit the historic sites, including the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City; the elegant tombs of the Nguyen Emperors and the Thien Mu Pagoda, a symbol of Hue. Visiting a pagoda in the late afternoon, and listening to the monks chant their prayers, you will feel as if you have strayed in to another world.
